In terms of the Champions League as a competition (which fans of this team bring up every chance they get), it would be worth verifying, using statistical data, but also elements of appreciation and common sense, that it is a completely random competition, mostly immersed in details or decisions in the last minute of a match, and more associated with factors such as luck, refereeing decisions in favor of the team at decisive moments, or the football speculation that arises during the famous clashes between teams, where, generally, the team that plays the best football doesn't necessarily always end up winning or taking the title. For this reason, we could say that it's not even the competition that determines a team's consistency throughout the year; in other words, it's not the most honest competition from the perspective of sustained effort throughout the season.
The "15 European Cups" argument and this false "superiority" is nothing more than the creation of a lying collective imagination of greatness that is not genuine and authentic but pretentious and overrated, especially compared to the titles, for example, unquestionably obtained by FC Barcelona, with an allegorical footballing greatness, unique style, defined aesthetics, and a legacy of recognizable teams that will be remembered in the history of football, such as the "Dream Team" of the great Johan Cruyff, or Pep Guardiola's "Tiki Taka," who obtained his Champions League titles by displaying a football made into art, indisputable, unforgettable, inexhaustible triumphs with total dominance. Additionally, it is embodied by a sublime and choral possession game, exquisite combinations, the magic of La Masia, and an absolute attacking game that has been and will always be remembered in history. In addition, a Barcelona Football Club, fortunate enough to have had a perhaps the best players ever to have existed in the world of football, such as Johan Cruyff, Romario, Rivaldo, Diego Armando Maradona himself, the great Ronaldinho Gaucho, Xavi, Iniesta, or, right now, video game players like Pedri and Lamine Yamal... and of course, the pleasure, the joy, and the eternal good fortune of having had the greatest player of all time: Lionel Andrés... MEEESSI, the god of football. The question, then, is: which is really the only great team here?
A great conclusion from this story could be: "Madrid is neither the best team that plays football, nor necessarily the one with the most sporting merit in the history of football." On the contrary, all of its apparent "greatness" is based on a falsehood, exaggerated by the media and perpetuated over time. In fact, it is incomprehensible from every perspective how one can measure the greatness of a team without even having a defined playing style or identity (other than the historically stingy counterattacking style, valid in football, of course, but petty and simplistic), not to mention the fact that, inexplicably, the media never echoes all of this, or a serious and in-depth discussion about Real Madrid's false and illegitimate pseudo-greatness is never opened. As if this weren't enough, many of these Champions League victories have been clearly tainted by refereeing decisions that are widely known by everyone and allegorical in their favor, further highlighting this "GREAT FARCE," the title of this article, which primarily highlights the dubious origin and history of the famous Champions League titles won by Real Madrid, the supposedly and incorrectly called "the greatest and most successful team in history."
Although this opinion piece does not attempt to highlight in detail the major thefts perpetrated by Real Madrid over time, not in football, but in the history of sport, it is enough to use common sense and infer that if the "team in power" (also often rightly nicknamed the "White Mafia" team) steals in this way, as it does today, match after match in domestic competitions such as La Liga and the Copa del Rey, or the Champions League, in the middle of 2024/2025, with VAR and 50 cameras included, just imagine what this club could have done in the 60s, 70s and 80s! In other words, if modern refereeing tools such as VAR had worked, speaking particularly of the Champions League, there should have been even fewer than 5 in total, and all of them won, of course, against lesser teams, never against the big teams. Furthermore, it must be taken into account that many semi-finals and finals in this competition were achieved with offside goals or non-existent penalties, and gross refereeing errors against their opponents in decisive moments. The intention of this article is to cast doubt on Real Madrid's footballing achievements, question the manner in which they were achieved, and expose a reality that has been obscured by the media over time. As if it were a rhetorical figure based on pure irony, one would find it hard to understand the chanted slogan: "Like this, like this, like this, Madrid wins." The underlying question is: how? By stealing? It would be understandable then that in almost every stadium in Spain, for a long time, the fans have been chanting: "Like this, like this, like this, Madrid steals."
Real Madrid is actually a limited team in the game! This is clearly evident in every game, leading us to the big question: "What is Real Madrid really playing for?" Last season, they only seemed to play one thing: "throw the ball at Embappe and see what happens"... Absolutely nothing else! Which, apart from being embarrassing (supposedly coming from the "best team in history"), they have now created this new form of "Los lloros" (The Crying). Yes, incredibly, the team that has historically been most favored by the refereeing establishment, not only in the Spanish League, but in the history of football, has now created this new wave of inferiority complexes and pity where, as unlikely as it may seem, they continually complain about the referees, whether they like it or not, before and after every game, immersed in continuous crying and controversies that only try to cloud a reality: A nonexistent, petty game and the lack of direction of a team that historically only plays on the counterattack, without clear ideas. or a defined aesthetic. This is how dishonest and shameless Real Madrid fans always dominate the media narrative with lies and fallacies, according to what suits them!
The new Real Madrid mentality of complaining about the refereeing in every game, besides embarrassing and pitiful, only reveals a lack of football and simply a clear limitation of game vision.
Among all the Real Madrid fans, players, coaches, directors, journalists, and spectators, the great lie of football has steadily developed: "The most successful team in the history." But in reality, it is the most fraudulent and deceitful team in the history of the sport. A team that never changes its style, no matter what new coach comes in, never with new variations of play, and always fundamentally basing all its potential on INDIVIDUALITIES, and never based on a showy TEAM PLAY, possession, or absolute dominance over its rivals, as can be called "The best team in the world." A total disgrace, considering that this is what FC Barcelona does, reinventing itself every season and completely dominating its rivals with cinematic football!
Globally accepted by the vast majority of teams and experts in this sport, the only team that has always shone and always will, regardless of the refereeing or the conditions of the political context, has been FC Barcelona. To win every match, they not only have to and must be better than their rivals (and they almost always prove this), but also superior to the additional circumstances, specifically refereeing errors, for example, where non-existent offsides are called or clear penalties in their favor that are not reviewed by the VAR, and even red cards resulting from fouls or implausible protests, like the one given to Hansi Flick recently! But nothing ever happens after appealing these rulings... Furthermore, the VAR's lack of discretion in reviewing dubious plays and showing them widely to the general public (just to name a few) allows FCB to emerge and stand out "AGAINST EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE."
What the vast majority of fans still don't know is that this is the great "secret" of FCB. It's what makes Barça a better team, truly the best in the world. It's the same need to be better than their historic rival, aided by the refereeing establishment and the circumstances of power, to have their own chance of winning! In addition to the mystique, the values of Barça, the Catalanism, the pure essence of La Masia, and the magic of the Canteranos (in the last Champions League match against Olympiakos, Flick started eight Canteranos from La Masia, something no team in the world can do), the talent of its players, and the aura that only FC Barcelona possesses in the beauty of the game, "Football made art."
In the history of football, there have been very few teams that have honorably championed the style of football, and one of them is Fútbol Club Barcelona. Life, as in everything, IS NOT JUST ABOUT WINNING, OR WINNING HOWEVER IT WORKS, BUT IN HOW THOSE TITLES ARE OBTAINED, IN ADDITION, ENJOYING THE FORMS AND BEAUTY AS AN AESTHETIC DIMENSION AND VISUAL PLEASURE! Here is the essence of the "DNA" of Futbol Club Barcelona, in its way of playing and the style adjacent to its game; And football, as a part of life, isn't always important to give the impression of wanting to win at all costs simply to show apparent superiority over the opponent, creating false collective perceptions in the world of football. Rather, it's important to demonstrate authentic quality through superiority in play, triangulations, collective attacking structure, passing, and association play (not just long balls and counterattacks, hoping the referees will help us with a penalty or a nonexistent offside call to gain an advantage, which is what Real Madrid's game boils down to).
The inflated and falsely named "Galactics Team" was nothing more than a collection of trading cards from a team based on checkbooks and money that, curiously, didn't win many titles. Again, an excessive inflation by the media of an artificially recreated, unreal greatness. In other words, "Real Madrid" should be called "The Farce of Madrid," considering that it will only have the legacy of collecting ill-gotten, illegitimate, or underhanded titles and simply displaying them in a showcase. Titles that, by the way, will not go down in history or memory with a defined football legacy, but rather are aided by questionable refereeing bodies steeped in the corruption of an existing power, the power of a country's capital, or, in other words, political power, therefore, "absolute" power. For this simple reason, FCB is the greatest team, beyond its footballing prowess, for the fact that it fights against everything and everyone! The question here is, speaking of the false "Champions of Madrid": does anyone remember how the team that won the 8th Champions League played? Madrid's 12th title? The 3rd? (Absolutely no one). It's as if at this club the only thing that matters is the cold, hard numbers! And legacy? And memory? And the game itself?
On the contrary, as if they were an antithesis, everyone will remember in history the six- and three-peat (Sextets & Triplets) of Guardiola's great Barça, the play of Johan Cruyff's "Dream Team," Luis Enrique's magical MSN trident (Messi, Suárez, and Neymar), or the current, already historic Barça with Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Cubarsi, and Pedri of the great Hansi Flick! Overall, Barça's unique style will always be its main legacy, beyond the numerical or inherent tally of titles in a museum display case (what does 8 matter or 80! ... 15 as if they were 35, 10, or 136... just numbers that express nothing and are worth absolutely nothing at the end of our lives). Not even Real Madrid fans can clearly remember what style of play Ancelotti's Real Madrid offered in his final seasons! Or the Champions League titles that, in the modern era of Zinedine Zidane's coaching career, he dubiously achieved; these weren't even remembered as cult teams, or as teams of choice, or as a reference for others in the world of football... they were simply accumulations of circumstantial victories without a recognizable style of play, with match approaches based primarily on counterattacks and, of course, as always, assisted by refereeing assistants who were evidently always biased towards the same team, the most corrupt team in the history of the sport: "Real Madrid's cheating team."
